"I consider surgery to be the last option after all other choices have been exhausted. Once surgery has been decided, it is important that is performed safely and in a manner to allow the quickest recovery for a patient, minimizing impact on family and career. I am a firm believer in minimally invasive surgery. With robotic surgery, greater than 90 percent of the hysterectomies I perform are laparoscopic, allowing for a overnight in the hospital and a two week recovery". Dr. Cunniff was the first physician in Minnesota to perform in-office tubal ligations under local anesthesia. As a proctor for da Vinci Surgery, he trains other physicians to perform robotic surgery.
